Our CEO, Rachel Gonzales, has been appointed to the Idaho Hospital Association (IHA) Board. She will be serving in that capacity as an American Hospital Association (AHA) Representative to the Regional Policy Board. We congratulate Rachel on this three-year appointment, which began on January 1, 2015. Rachel is looking forward to this opportunity and will represent Madison Memorial very well.

Rachel has also been listed a second time as one of the “50 Rural Hospital CEO’s to Know”. Becker’s Hospital Review publishes this list which features some of the most impressive leaders dedicated to advancing healthcare in small towns and rural communities. Individuals included on the list include CEOs and administrators of hospitals located outside of a major metropolitan areas or healthcare hubs. The selected leaders went through an editorial review process where a number of factors were considered, including awards received; local, regional and national leadership positions held; and their organizations’ recent performance.

Hospital Renovation – HIM Record Storage:

As soon as the 120 days worth of Medical Records can be stored on site in a different location we will begin renovating the HIM record storage space. It will be the new location for Medical Staff Services and other employees yet to be determined. The renovation will include several offices, 11 cubicles, a conference room similar in size to the boardroom, and six stations for employees to utilize to work on Healthstream assignments. As soon as the renovation starts it is expected to take approximately 90 days until completion. More information will be available as the project progresses.

Employee Recognition Program Version 2.0:

In an effort to recognize the wonderful efforts of our employees in real time we are revamping our employee recognition program. Rather than only choosing several employees once a quarter we are encouraging anyone who would like to recognize outstanding effort to send an email to HR. There is no length requirement or specific form that needs to be filled out. Just let us know when an employee does something exemplary or noteworthy and we will contact the employee within the week to recognize them. We have some wonderful employees at Madison Memorial Hospital that go the extra mile.
