Women’s Health Conference

Rexburg, ID – Madison Memorial Hospital (MMH) had their first Women’s Health Conference on Saturday, October 11th, at Madison High School.  The keynote speaker was Dr. S. Blake Wachter MD, PhD, from The Idaho Heart Institute, who discussed Women & Cardiovascular Disease.  Wachter and over 27 physicians and healthcare providers shared their expertise on both common and complex problems experienced by women. According to Audrey Fletcher, Chief Operations Officer at MMH, “The purpose of the conference was to encourage women to become better in of the following aspects: understand their own healthcare needs, make informed decisions about their well-being, feel inspired to take charge of their health, and ultimately, be health advocates in their homes and communities.” “We are grateful to the members of our community, who by their participation demonstrated their advocacy for women’s health,” said Doug McBride, Public Relations Director at MMH.
