Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Infants born prematurely or with medical problems have immediate access to our NICU services at Madison Memorial. Our level 2B Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides care for preterm or sick infants from 32 weeks gestation to term (40 weeks).
We specialize in the late preterm infants (34-37 weeks gestation). Our state-of-the-art 14 bed NICU is staffed with Neonatologists, NICU-trained Pediatricians, NICU-trained nurses, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers. The design of our unit allows families to nurture their babies in a private, comfortable, and nurturing environment.
Landon was born January 30th just after 10:00 pm. Due to complications with the delivery, he was rushed to the NICU. That night was the scariest night of my life. He spent the next two and a half days in the NICU at Madison Memorial, and each of those days was also hard for my husband and me. I’m so grateful for the nurses and pediatricians that took care of our little boy. They answered my questions and were so good with Landon beyond what their jobs required. Everything was very professional and informative yet sensitive enough to help a new mom feel comfortable.
Thank you ~ Michael, Aubree, and Landon Low
