REXBURG, Idaho – As of October 6, 2022, Madisonhealth’s flagship hospital, Madison Memorial will be offering a higher level of care for stroke patients in Rexburg and the Upper Valley. They will be utilizing a new TeleHealth partnership with Intermountain Healthcare of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Stroke victims can lose thousands of brain cells every second, which means that timing is critical. The ability to rapidly diagnose and treat someone suffering from a stroke is vital to the success of the patient. Madisonhealth’s new TeleHealth partnership opens the door to an additional support team, which ultimately will help keep stroke victims closer to their homes and their families.

Intermountain’s TeleHealth technology includes high-resolution cameras, professional audio equipment, and HD televisions in patient rooms. Using these tools, clinicians in Rexburg can quickly connect with the world-renowned neurologists at Intermountain Healthcare.

Kevin McEwan, Chief Nursing Officer at Madisonhealth, said, “Having stroke and neurology experts available on video, just one click away, saves brain time and lives. We are so very fortunate to have these experts available to our community through Intermountain Healthcare’s TeleStroke program. The Intermountain neurologists will work with our doctors and nurses here at Madison Memorial Hospital, to ensure the best possible care for every patient, every time.”

“This partnership with Intermountain Healthcare will allow us to implement innovative technology to assist in providing superior patient care quickly, helping patients continue along their path to recovery,” said Doug McBride, Executive Director Business Development at Madisonhealth.
